Abstract
At the swine unit of the Santa Catalina Experimental Station situated at 2.750 meters above sea level with an annual, mean temperature of 10.95°C, an experiment was conducted to determine production data in Duroc - Jersey litters. Sows and their litters, were analysed over a period of eight years in which time they were subject to different treatments of experimental feeding and manage ment. From a total of 450 sows, 16 were selected at random for each of the five litter births analysed, from which were obtained the following average results: Average number of piglets at birth, 21 and 56 days were 9.08, 6.30 and 6.03 with a cohefficient of variation of 33.82, 42.41 and 43.65 por cent; respectively. The averege weights at these three ares were 1.17 , 3.82 and 12.15 kilograms, with a coheficient of variation of 52.12, 69.26 and 59.36 per cent in this order.
