Abstract
The potato (Solanurn tuberosum L.) is a national widely consumed product having an average production of 5.63 metric tons by hectare in Ecuador. One of the main factors for this low production rate is the poor quality of the seeds which most of potato raisers use; and this is the reason for which getting the seed-tubercles in optimum sanitary, physical and physiological conditions requires proper planning and production technologies. One alternative that is being proposed in this research work is the use of single-pole magnets in order to maximize the resources in the dropping irrigation system in order to get the pre-basic seed which is the raw material required by the seed-multiplying programs.
