The research aimed to identify sweetpotato genotypes of high yields in fresh root and foliage. Were evaluated 4 and 11 local materials introduced from International Potato Centre, CIP-Peru. Crop management was in line with the recommendations of Agenda INIAP Yuca-Yam. Variables were measured foliage and roots. For the foliage were: number of guides, weight at 120 and 140 days after sowing and harvesting. The roots were evaluated: number of roots and weight in both commercial and noncommercial, and performance. In addition, identify the major pests and beneficial that occurred in the crop. The results of the agronomic characterization allowed us to observe large genetic variability and production potential. Squash, and purple-Ecuador Philipino behaved dual purpose by having the best performance in foliage and roots unlike Toquecita that feature only in root production. We identified arthropod pests and beneficial. The main pest species were those of the genera: Omophoeta sp Empoasca sp, sp Atta, Frankliniella sp, Dysdercus sp, sp Hedylepta, Aphis sp and Tetranychus sp. Of the benefits identified to genus four and five at the family level. The agronomic characterization showed the wide genetic variability of the materials in the study area identified four materials with productive potential.
